What to do if you lose your IC card?
  1. If you lose your IC card, you must immediately go to the specified website to apply for suspension of your certificate: http://moica.nat.gov.tw (Certification Operation/Certificate Suspension). Use your subscriber code and IC card number to suspend its use. Or, you can bring your original ID card to the counter of the household registration office to suspend or terminate your IC card in a move to avoid being used by other persons.
  2. Upon loss of your IC card, you can choose one of the following two ways: A: Apply for suspension of your IC card. After lost and found, you can apply online for recovery of your IC card with your subscriber code and IC card number. B. If you choose to terminate your certificate after loss, you must bring along your original ID card (you cannot entrust somebody to do it for yourself) to a neighboring household registration office to apply for a new certificate. You are reminded that, starting from January 2005, an IC card working fee of NT$250 is required for Citizen Digital Certificate.
How to apply for certificate suspension?
Subscribers can choose following methods:
  1. Go in person to the counter of the household registration office with your original ID card to apply for suspension.
  2. Go to the specified website: http://moica.nat.gov.tw and click “Certification Operation/Certificate Suspension”. For online application, you need to verify your identity with your subscriber code and IC card number. If you forget or lose your subscriber code, you must go to the household registration office to change your subscriber code.
How long does it take for the Certification Authority to process application for certificate suspension/recovery?
The Certification Authority will complete processing of certificate suspension/recovery in one working day after receipt by the CA registration counter.
How long does certificate suspension last?
It is not necessary to specify the suspension time. According to the Certification Authority, the longest time of suspension is from time for approval for suspension to expiration of the certificate.
How to apply for certificate recovery?
You can choose following methods:

For online application, you need to verify your identity with your subscriber code and IC card number. If you forget or lose your subscriber code, you must go to the household registration office to change your subscriber code.
After approval of certificate recovery, how long do you have to wait for resuming application services?
Generally speaking, data linking and renewal between the databases of various application service units and Citizen Digital Certificate takes about 1 to 3 days. However, since data matching and renewal for identity verification of the various application service units are different, you are advised to resume use of application services 3 days after certificate recovery.
