What to do if the Citizen Digital Certificate IC card is lost or damaged?
You must apply for a new certificate IC card after loss or damage of the old one. Prior to application, you must first revoke at the counter the lost or damaged certificate IC card. (To apply for a new certificate IC card, you must first delete the previous reservation information and apply for new reservation.)
What to do if the certificate is no longer needed?
You must go directly to the registration counter to apply for revocation with your original ID card. After revocation, if you want to apply for a new certificate IC card, you have to pay NT$250 working fee.
Who has the right to apply for certificate revocation?
All certificate owners can apply for revocation with official documents from the Judicial Department.
Under what circumstances will the certificate be automatically revoked?
Subscribers with Citizen Digital Certificate will be notified of revocation under following circumstances:
  1. Change of ID card number and name
  2. Death
  3. Declaration of death
  4. Loss of Nationality

How to apply for certificate revocation?
You must go in person directly to the counter with your original ID card. After receipt of your application material, the registration counter will verify your identity and determine if your certificate can be revoked. To check the status of revocation, go directly to the Interior Ministry CA website: http://moica.nat.gov.tw (Certification Operation/Certificate Issuance Query).
After approval of certificate revocation application, how long will it take for revocation?
After receipt of application for revocation by the CA registration counter, the revocation process will complete in one working day.
I received the certificate revocation notice, why?
  1. To change the certificate contents, for instance change of ID card number and name, you need to revoke your certificate and apply for a new certificate. The system will automatically send you a revocation notice upon change of certificate contents.
  2. To check the status of your certificate, go directly to the Interior Ministry CA website: http://moica.nat.gov.tw (Certification Operation/Certificate Issuance Status).
After receipt of the revocation notice, why is it I cannot check the contents (garbled)?
The system will automatically send you a revocation notice if you change your certificate contents. If you do not see the contents upon receipt of the notice, please dial 0800-080-117 toll free for customer service.
Can the certificate be used after death of the certificate owner?
Upon death of the certificate owner, the Certification Authority will carry out routine daily operations to compare information with the household registration and military service offices and automatically revoke the certificate without notification, thereby the revoked certificate can no longer be used.
