Content A recent survey shows that over 430,000 people filing personal income tax with Citizen Digital Certificate this year, a hefty 50% increase from that of last year’s. Meanwhile, more than 110,000 new issues of Citizen Digital Certificate in May, the tax filing month, were accounted to 85% increase from the same month last year, indicating the e-government service has successfully made its way to the general public.

Issued by Ministry of the Interior, Citizen Digital Certificate is by nature an ID over the Internet. It also serves as the infrastructure for the e-government. Currently, there are more than one thousand government applications utilizing Citizen Digital Certificate and about nine million transactions on the Internet have been accumulated so far. Among them, most notably has been the tax filing during the tax declaration period. Last month, cooperative propaganda between MOI and National Tax Bureau on tax filing with the Citizen Digital Certificate resulted in over 517,000 downloads of personal taxable data on the Internet, a sure sign of knowing the benefits of using the Citizen Digital Certificate.

Promoting the usage of Citizen Digital Certificate has been one of the e-government goals for Ministry of the Interior. Besides the tax filing on the Internet, we will continue to promote the usage of Citizen Digital Certificate on other e-government online services. It then will make people enjoy the uninterruptible, 24-hour e-government services and truly beautify their lives.
