Content The debut of Citizen Digital Certificate was from April 30, 2003 and its effective period is five years according to the Certificate Policy Statement of government’s Public Key Infrastructure. Thus, after April 30, 2008, the Citizen Digital Certificate expirations will gradually surface. Due to the high call from the users, the extension plan was approved by the Executive Yuan on January 2, 2008. The users of Citizen Digital Certificate may extend its expiration date for three years through the Internet or go to any Household Registration Office’s front desk anytime within 60 days prior to the expiration date. After the expiration date, however, users may only go to the HRO’s front desk for the extension. Please refer to the web site (moica.nat.gov.tw) of Citizen Digital Certificate for further details.
