憑證IC卡是否一定要配合讀卡機才可使用嗎？ Must the certificate IC card be used in conjunction with a card reader?
因外來人口自然人憑證儲存於IC卡晶片上，所以必須與IC卡讀卡機相互配合才可以使用，讀卡機的功用是讀取憑證IC卡，就像光碟片需要光碟機一樣，憑證IC卡裡的憑證資料內容需藉讀卡機才可以讀取，並跟電腦應用系統整合使用。

請用戶確認下列事項：
確認讀卡機是否安裝成功，可從個人電腦裡選擇『開始／控制台／系統／硬體／裝置管理員』，確認是否有『智慧卡讀取裝置(或Smart card reader)』，查看裝置是否有問號或驚嘆號，如有則表示未安裝成功，請您將此裝置移除後再重新安裝驅動程式。
依照各種形式讀卡機使用說明，確認燈號是否正常。
有無使用USB延長線，可能會因距離太遠而接收不到訊號。
